If Library Catalog is DOWN, search WorldCat instead  WorldCat instructions                        
1) Enter key search terms in WorldCat search box;  
     2) In the results, click on the title of the item;   
     3) Below the description, click on the "Search My Library" link
or enter location information in the Library tab found below
the item. Worldcat searches thousands of libraries, so you will need to take this step to find out if item is owned by DSU/Mundt Library.

Description of Library Catalog

The Library Catalog is a catalog of resources the library owns (such as books or videocassettes) and resources to which the library subscribes (such as databases or magazines).  Therefore, it serves as an inventory of the library's collections (whether in print or other media) and gives items' locations so you can find them (physically in the library or remotely through a Web link). Search for items by author, title, keyword,  Library of Congress subject heading, etc.

You may also search the catalogs of other libraries in the South Dakota Library Network by selecting the desired library or selecting all the libraries at one time by choosing "All SDLN libraries" in the drop-down Library menu.  See SDLN home page -- to learn about the SD Library Network.

INSTRUCTIONS: After clicking on the link to Library Catalog,

1. If a login screen displays, click the "Guest" button to get to a search screen (login is not necessary when just searching the catalog).
2. Use the "Change Library" dropdown menu to select the library you want to search.
3. Enter your search.

How to access this resource from off-campus:
  • If you are off-campus, you may be asked to enter a library ID number and a password at some point after you connect to SDLN.
  • To search the catalog, you may log in as "Guest."
  • To renew, find out what items are checked out to you, or to request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must login with your personal library ID number.
    • The library ID numbers for DSU students, faculty, and staff all begin with the numbers 21578.... You can find this number on the front of your DSU ID card. Distance students, who do not have ID cards, will receive this library ID number (not a card) the Library when you first enroll. If you do not know your ID number are unable to login with your ID and password, contact reference@dsu.edu.
    • The password is your last name.
